William Madtha

Dr. William Madtha (born 1940) is an Indian writer. He was born in Vittal in South Canara. He is well known for his literary and scientific articles in Konkani, Kannada, Tulu and English.

He was a former president of the All-India Konkani Parishad. Dr. Madtha became president of the parishad at its 17th conference held in Mumbai in January 1997. He also worked as Head of the Department of Kannada at Karnatak University (Dharwad).

On November 9, 2009, he died of a heart attack at Kankanady Hospital in Mangalore.
